Hello! We are one week away from the official start of summer. What better way to celebrate this season than to showcase summer themed Designer Series Papers (DSP).
I chose to highlight the Sand and Sea DSPs as nothing says summer like the beach, sand and sea! This DSP will only be available while stocks last or until June 30. If you want to make this and other fun project using these beautiful DSPs, please click on the host code on the right of this post to stock up now.
As an island girl, I loved to collect sands from various beaches I visited and the shells, that I come across, in small bottles. They are all so unique and Stampin' Up! has done such an excellent job with the Sand and Sea suite to capture the feel of the beach!
For this project I used the amazing DSPs but also used the Pearlescent Specialty Paper with the largest Seaside Seashells die to cut out the shells and underwater "greenery". Then I used the Seashells 3D embossing folder to form the shells in the shapes that the die cut. Separate the shells and the greenery with your Paper Snips.
For the greenery I sponged Garden Green and Mossy Meadow inks. The shells were sponged with Blushing Bride, So Saffron and Sahara Sand inks.
On the inside of the card I used Sahara Sand to stamp the sentiment, sand and coral.
For added "bling", I used Bakers twine behind the centre shell feature and made a small double bow. Also, the Opal Rounds are gorgeous an add to the sparkle of the card!
I hope you like this card.
