Gleaming Dove of Hope!

For our December 2020 blog hop, I will continue to explore the rich buffet that is Stampin' Up!® 2020 Holiday catalog. Given the challenging year we have had, for my final 2020 blog, I thought it would be a great idea to showcase the Dove of Hope bundle as well as the beautiful Brightly Gleaming Specialty Designer Series Paper.

The card that I made is a window card inspired by #Scrimpingmommy and #Stamptastic Designs displaying the quintessential symbol of hope in full pageantry - the Dove! As we look to 2021, let us dream of and pray for a healthier world with full economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Here are the products and dimensions used for this project.
  • Mossy Meadow cardstock - 5 1/2" x 8", scored at 4 1/4"   (Landscape card base)
  • Cut 1 1/4" from the score line of the card base for the top section of the window for the card front.
  • Window sheet - 5 1/2' x 4 1/8"
  • Mossy Meadow cardstock (2 pieces) - 5 1/ 2" x 1", 1 piece - 5 1/2" x 1 1/4"
  • Mossy Meadow cardstock for Olive Branch
  • Whisper White cardstock 5 3/8" x 4 1/8" for sentiment inside the card
  • Brightly Gleaming Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP) - 1 1/8" x 5 3/8" for top section of window and 7/8" x 5 3/8" for the bottom section of the window
  • Dove of Hope Bundle
  • For Unto Us stamp set
  • Mossy Meadow Classic Stampin' Pad
  • Cooper Foil Sheet to cut the out the dove body and two wings using the Detailed Dove Dies - attach wings to both sides of the doves body using Stampin' Seal
  • Red Rhinestone Basic Jewels
  • Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewels
  • Gold Embossing Powder
  • Stitched Rectangles Dies
  • Detailed Trio Punch

  • Use Tear and Tape adhesive of both sides at the top and bottom of the window sheet (on the 5 1/2" side). I tried to avoid using liquid glue on this project as it could make for a messy window.
  • Attach the top of the window sheet to the top of the 1 1/4" side of the card base with the Tear and Tape adhesive
  • Attach the 5 1/2" x 1 1/4" strip to the inside of the top of the window with the Tear and Tape adhesive
  • Attach the 5 1/ 2" x 1" Mossy Meadow strips to the bottom of the window sheet on the front and back with the Tear and Tape adhesive
  • On the front of the card, use Stampin' Seal to attach the 1 1/8" x 5 3/8" DSP for top section of window on Mossy Meadow border and 7/8" x 5 3/8" DSP for the bottom section of the window again, on Mossy Meadow border
  • Using Stampin' Seal, attach the dove to the centre of the clear window
  • Use a Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewel for the Dove's eye
  • Attach the Olive branch to the back of the dove's beak.
  • Attach a Red Rhinestone Basic Jewel to the Olive branch
  • I used a sentiment from Itty Bitty Christmas for the outside of the card on Mossy Meadow cut using the smallest rectangle from the Stitched Rectangle Dies using gold embossing powder
  • Glue the strip with the sentiment to Copper Foil 2 5/8" x 5/8" and mount on dimensionals to the bottom section of the window
  • For the inside of the card, I used a sentiment from the For Unto Us stamp set on the Whisper White cardstock using gold embossing powder. Also I stamped the Olive Branch from the Dove of Hope stamp set in Mossy Meadow and set the Red Rhinestone in the berry section of the branch.
  • Use the Detailed Trio Punch to round the corners of the Whisper White cardstock used for the inside of the card.
I hope you have as much fun making this card as I have! Please check out the blog of the other creative ladies in the Stamping Symphony blog hop!
