Pretty Poinsettia!

Stampin' Up!® 2020 Holiday catalog is a gold mine of festive celebration. It is really difficult to say which one is my favourite but if I had to, the Poinsettia Place Suite would be top of mind as it is spectacular!

Poinsettias remind me of my childhood Christmas in Jamaica. We always had a poinsettia tree in the garden. The blooms reminded us that Christmas was coming! Alas in my adult household we cannot decorate with this wonderful plant because my youngest child is allergic to it. But we can have all kinds of paper versions of this beautiful collection of stamps, dies, paper and accessories!!! In honour of this month's blog for fancy folds, the card below features a bridge fold.

Here are the products and dimensions used for this project.
  • Soft Suede Card Base - 4 1/4" x 8", scored at 1 1/4", 2 1/2", 5 1/2", 6 3/4"
  • Whisper White 2 7/8" x 4 1/8" for sentiment in the middle of the scored card base
  • Poinsettia Place Designer Series paper (DSP) - 4 pieces 1 1/8" x 4 1/8" for scored panels
  • Bridge 1 1/2" x 5 1/2", DSP 1 3/8" x 5 3/8"
  • Cut 4 sizes of poinsettias out of Cherry Cobbler cardstock and layer with largest at the bottom to smallest
  • Beaded pearl for the centre of the poinsettia
  • Cherry Cobbler stamp
  • Lovely Labels Pick A Punch
When laying the bridge piece, fold the left side and leave the right side flat. This is how the card will fit in the envelope. I used dimensionals on the left side of the outer poinsettia petals with glue dots to secure the gorgeous beaded pearls.

I used the "for unto us a child is born" stamp from the For Unto Us stamp set as the sentiment in the middle of the card using Cherry Cobbler stamp inkpad. For the front of the card I used the Happy Christmas stamp from Itty Bitty Christmas in Cherry Cobbler ink on a 1/2' strip of Whisper White cardstock tucked under the poinsettia petal and shaped at the end with the Lovely Labels Pick A Punch

I hope you will try to make this card.
